PINK LOERIE MARDI GRAS 2008 - Knysna

“Get Out – Stay Out”

 

And another long weekend to celebrate the 2008 Pink Loerie Mardi Gras. It will happen from

1 May  to 4 May 2008

 Right where it started 7 years ago and you are invited! For those who do not know – it is the first and only Mardi-gras on the African Continent and the biggest and most fabulous 4 day party in the country

 

Some of the highlights for this year:

On the art scene – Fine artist, Marinda Combrink as official fine artist for 2008, black and white photography exhibition of male nudes, World class exhibition at Knysna Fine Art and more…

 

On the Party scene: Portland Manor will host the Pre Pink Patsy again this year. Parties every night organized by the gorgeous boys of Zanzibar, parties for the ladies as well as a fabulous Gat Party. A leather party will also be held for the first time this year.

 

Then on the shows scene: Pledge Square will be undercover with daily shows, drag shows daily, cabaret, music and more. Drag shows every night at the great Greek restaurant, Limani Blue at the Waterfront. Portland Manor will again present the lunch time concert on Sunday 4 May with the Cooky Cups

 

And furthermore: the will be boat cruises, a cocktail route, wine and champagne tastings, a fragrance launch, underwear show and a gay literature exhibition and various competitions. There will even be a nudist hike through the world famous Monkeyland. And for the lonely travelers and the single ones amongst us – beautiful boys to keep you (maybe even you and yours) company and a Pink Charity Motorcycle Breakfast run. 

 

And the bigger events:

The annual street parade, the after street parade party promises to be one of the best parties this  year, the very popular yearly woman’s event and the climax – the PINK party! There will also be the drag competition – the new Miss Mardi Gras 2008 Beauty Pageant and the Mr. Mardi Gras SA 2008 Competition (incl. the men’s underwear show) as well as the Pink Hairstylist of the Year competition.

 

And new this year:

A church service where all people incl. gay people will be welcome, a leather bar, the great new Knysna Playhouse with a fabulous production, Pledge Square under cover and the brand new venue for the parties, Zanzibar and not to miss – the amateur male stripper competition, the Cock-tail Barman of the Year competition and more later…
